![]() Do you think softimage SDK is gives you as much freedom as MEL? You might come up with an ICE answer, but still dude, Maya might no be the most awesome software by default but studios like it and many people do. Do you think that marking menus are slower than hotkeys? If so you’ve got a really bad condition. Do you think that working with a software where you can not even set up units as cm is fine? You are really wrong. Now tell me one thing, do you really thing that s key navigation is better than what the rest of software use? I just got used to it but it is really annoying. I gotta say that as a modeler i dont work confortable in maya withouth diamant or nex ( tools that make any other software suck so much includin softimage ) but In this years of experience I have met very good artists ( that u are calling retarded ) creatig stuff with this more simple or not updated tools. It always come to the software you are happy with and your experience with it. Still not perfect, i have work with both maya and 3ds max ( and with modo recently ) and it is easy to see that Softimage is awesome but still not perfect. ![]() I love its modeling, UvUnwrapping, rigging, animation, lighting and compositig tools. I have been working in Softimage for 5 or 6 years and it is the best software for me and my needs. like sure, its pretty cool, but it honestly has one of the worst navigation control schemes i’ve ever seen :PĬrackhead you just sound like the common softimage user that makes me embarrased of being a Softimage user. also, your the only artist i’ve ever seen attempting to shove softimage down others throats. which seems to be pretty low based on the way you attack anyone and everyone in every thread. The tool doesnt really matter, its mainly down to your skill level as an artist. I choose speed because my job dictates it. However I still often go back to maya, the app I started with, simply because i have the most experience in it, and i work fastest in it due to familiarity. But i made sure that anything i was able to make in one app, i learned how to do it in another. ![]() There were things i liked and disliked about all of them. I myself have played with Maya, 3ds max, blender, houdin, cinema4d, softimage, modo, and 3d coat, Zbrush, Mudbox, Motionbuilder, and Topogun.
